Canon SELPHY Ink & Paper Packs

Genuine Canon SELPHY ink and paper for CP-series compact photo printers, including the SELPHY CP1500, CP1300, CP1200, CP1000 and CP910. Every pack contains both the ink cassette and the photo paper, so one box is all you need to print.

Which pack do I need? RP-108 gives 108 postcard-size prints (100 x 148 mm) and is the best value per print. RP-54 gives 54 postcard-size prints, a smaller pack for occasional printing.

Canon SELPHY ink and paper explained

SELPHY CP printers use dye-sublimation rather than liquid ink. The "ink" is a ribbon cassette holding yellow, magenta and cyan dye plus a clear protective layer, and the printer passes each sheet under the ribbon four times. Each cassette holds exactly enough ribbon for the paper it comes with, which is why Canon only sells SELPHY ink and paper together as a set, never separately.

The result is a smooth, dot-free photo that is dry and smudge-resistant as soon as it comes out of the printer. Canon rates prints for up to 100 years when kept in a photo album.

Which SELPHY printers use RP-108 and RP-54?

Both packs make postcard-size (100 x 148 mm, roughly 6 x 4 inch) prints and fit Canon's SELPHY CP-series printers, including:

  • SELPHY CP1500 (current model)
  • SELPHY CP1300
  • SELPHY CP1200
  • SELPHY CP1000
  • SELPHY CP910
  • SELPHY CP820

The SELPHY Square QX10 is not a CP-series printer and uses different square-format packs, so RP-108 and RP-54 won't fit it.

Canon SELPHY CP1500 ink

Looking for CP1500 ink? The CP1500 uses the same RP-series ink and paper packs as earlier CP models, so RP-108 or RP-54 is all you need. Load the paper into the postcard-size paper cassette that came with the printer and slide the ink cassette into the side of the printer.

The Canon SELPHY CP1500 printer

The CP1500 is Canon's current compact photo printer, available in black and white. It prints over Wi-Fi from a phone or tablet using the Canon SELPHY Photo Layout app, and also from an SD card or USB. A 3.5-inch screen lets you print without a phone at all, and an optional battery pack (sold separately) makes it fully portable for parties, weddings and holidays.

Can I buy SELPHY ink without the paper? No. Canon only sells SELPHY ink and paper together, because each ink cassette is matched to the number of sheets in the pack.

How many prints do I get? RP-108 gives 108 prints and RP-54 gives 54. When the paper runs out, the ink cassette is used up at the same time.

What size are the prints? Postcard size, 100 x 148 mm, which is roughly a standard 6 x 4 inch photo.

Does RP-108 work in the CP1500? Yes. RP-108 and RP-54 work in the CP1500 and the other SELPHY CP-series printers listed above.

Can I use other photo paper in a SELPHY? No. SELPHY printers need Canon's own dye-sublimation paper, which comes in the same pack as the ink.
